It was a real privilege to speak on Wednesday 29th April at the Belfast Harbour Community Awards.
From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was incredible. There was a genuine energy in the room—a shared commitment from people who are all striving in their own ways to make life better for others within their communities. It wasn’t just inspiring, it was deeply moving.
What stood out most was seeing grassroots communities truly flourishing. You could feel the impact of people coming together, supporting one another, and creating meaningful change where it matters most. That doesn’t happen by accident—it takes vision, belief, and the right support.
The Belfast Harbour Commission is playing a powerful role in making this happen. Their investment in communities and their commitment to backing local initiatives is clearly helping to create environments where people and ideas can grow, connect, and thrive.
The theme for the evening was “Stronger Together,” and this wasn’t just a slogan—it was something you could feel in every conversation, every story, and every connection made on the night. There was a real sense of unity, purpose, and pride.
Events like this are a reminder of what’s possible when people align behind a common goal. It was an honour to be part of it.
