It was a genuine privilege to be invited to speak at the St Joseph’s College, Ipswich Prize Giving Ceremony.
As a former teacher, opportunities to return to a school environment and speak to young people always hold a special place in my heart. This occasion was particularly memorable.
From the moment I arrived, I experienced a school community built on ambition, kindness and a genuine commitment to helping every student flourish. The conversations I had with students, parents and staff after the event were both humbling and inspiring, and I was deeply grateful for the warmth of the welcome and the feedback I received.
St Joseph’s College is a place where academic success is celebrated but just as importantly, where character is developed. The school’s commitment to nurturing confident, compassionate and resilient young people is evident in every aspect of its culture.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone involved in organising such a memorable event, and in particular to Headteacher Danielle Clarke. Her passion, energy and unwavering commitment to the students are clear to see, creating an environment where young people are encouraged to believe in themselves, embrace challenges and fulfil their potential.
It was an honour to play a small part in recognising the achievements of so many outstanding students, and I wish every one of them continued success as they take the next steps in their journey.
