From the moment I stepped onto the grounds of Shiplake College, I could feel it, that unmistakable sense of warmth, purpose, and community. It’s one of those rare places where you just know something special is happening.
I had the privilege of speaking to their talented group of sports scholars about perseverance, resilience, and the importance of dreaming big, while staying grounded in reality. These students were not only engaged, but eager to learn and reflect. Their attitude spoke volumes about the values being nurtured within the school.
One of the many highlights was the warm welcome I received from Headmaster Tyrone Howe. A fellow Ulsterman and a natural leader, it’s no surprise that the school is thriving under his guidance. With Tyrone at the helm, there’s no doubt Shiplake will continue to go from strength to strength.
This school has heart, ambition, and a deep commitment to developing well-rounded young people and I feel incredibly lucky to have been a small part of that for a day.
