Kingswood House School was a truly special way to start to my day.
I’ll be honest: seeing the Head, Matthew Bryan, made me smile and feel slightly old. In a previous chapter of my life I was a new teacher, and so was he at the same school. To now see the leader he has become was genuinely moving. The culture he and his senior leadership team have created is clear the moment you walk in. The focus, respect and warmth shown by the pupils doesn’t happen by chance, it’s been carefully and compassionately built.
My sincere thanks to Sachin Sukhdeo for organising everything so smoothly. A top man who truly understands the power of honest conversations and the difference they can make.
I was deeply impressed by the maturity, attentiveness and openness of the pupils throughout the session. But the moment that will stay with me came afterwards, speaking quietly with a pupil who has physical difficulties and hearing how the message around perspective had genuinely helped them.
That single conversation is the reason I do this.
If sharing real stories of resilience, perspective and overcoming challenge helps even one young person feel seen, understood or hopeful, then every moment is worth it.
Grateful.
