Speaking at Whitgift School
It was a real privilege to visit Whitgift School as part of their #SportsMentoring programme. I shared my journey—from playing professional cricket for Ireland and Sussex to navigating life after my diagnosis of hereditary spastic paraplegia—and spoke about the importance of perseverance, discipline, and mindset.
The students were brilliant: engaged, curious, and full of thoughtful questions during the Q&A. It was clear they care deeply about their sport and are eager to learn not just how to win, but how to grow through challenges.
I left inspired by their energy and grateful to be part of a school community that values resilience and character just as much as performance.
