I thought I’d seen it all. I’d come to terms with a diagnosis that changed my life, faced physical challenges I never imagined. But nothing could have prepared me for the moment I saw this video.
It was made by my kids.
They had decided,completely on their own, to create a video asking for help to raise funds for the life-changing operation I so desperately needed. I watched as each of them spoke, not just with love but with courage, honesty and raw determination. They didn’t sugarcoat the hard times. They didn’t flinch from the reality of watching someone they love struggle. And they didn’t hesitate to ask the world to care.
Seeing my children take action like that, for me, broke something open in the best possible way. I cried because I was proud. I cried because I was overwhelmed. And I cried because I realised the strength I’d tried to show them all these years had come full circle.
Their video didn’t just raise money. It raised hope. It reminded me that love, when spoken out loud, can move mountains and sometimes even fund operations.
That moment will stay with me forever.
