I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Bedford School to speak to their Sixth Form about something I believe in deeply, that resilience is a skill we can all develop, no matter what life throws our way.
From the moment I arrived, I was seriously impressed. The pupils were engaged, thoughtful, and full of questions, a true credit to the school. Their openness to exploring how to face setbacks and keep moving forward was inspiring to see.
A special mention has to go to Will Montgomery, the Assistant Teacher who organised the whole visit. His passion for supporting and guiding young people shines through in everything he does, it was a joy to work with someone so committed and genuine.
With a school culture this strong, it’s no surprise that someone like Sir Alastair Cook, former England cricket captain, emerged from these very grounds. Bedford School isn’t just developing athletes or scholars, it’s shaping outstanding young people.
I left feeling inspired and grateful to have spent time in such a brilliant place.
