Friday afternoon. The end of a long school week. You might expect energy levels to dip but not at Downe House.
I had the privilege of speaking to the sixth form about resilience and exploring how we find strength in the face of challenge and what it means to keep moving forward when life doesn’t go to plan.
What stood out most wasn’t just how engaged the students were but the questions they asked afterwards. Thoughtful. Honest. Brave. The kind of questions that show they weren’t just listening, they were truly reflecting.
A huge thank you to Matthew Godfrey for helping make the session possible and to Georgina Taylor, an inspiring Head of Sixth Form. The young women at Downe House are fortunate to have such dedicated leadership guiding them.
Walking away, more accurately wheeling away 💪 I was reminded why I love sharing my story. If one moment, one message or one talk can help a young person see resilience in a new light, the ripple effect can be life-changing.
